This multi-purpose woods knife was designed with the Hawk in mind. The Hawk has sharp claws, also called talons, which are used to catch and hold their prey. Day hunters, they have the keenest vision of any animal, hence the popular phrase "hawk eye".
Ralph Mroz, writer for Tactical Knives Magazine has this to say:
The Durango Hawke is ground from 3/16 inch stock. The thickness of most "normal" extra heavy duty knives. Finished with gray epoxy coating, the slightly downward swept Durango Hawke has a straight, upswet, high blade, however, makes it appear recurved and in fact, you feel that characteristic, since on retraction you are actually pulling against the blade. The balance of this knife is just behind the guard. The Durango Hawke feels like a heavy cutting or mild whacking tool in the hand, and when chocked-upon using the choil, it feels like you're about to perform some more delicate cutting tasks.
